Captains and Refs

We need your help to organize your team! Especially with the communal reffing. If your team is scheduled for reffing, you need to have 2 players present to get the game going on time, keep track of the score, and help supervise the games, making calls as you see them.

Captain Responsibilities

Captains are responsible for taking part in the draft selection and choosing their team. They are also responsible for communicating with other throughout the season when substitutions are necessary, organizing reffing, and speaking to the league administrator if issues arise.

Submitting Scores: There is a clipboard with the rest of the gear that is to be left at the gym. The clipboard has a separate sheet for each week to keep score. Captains must send an email to info@dodgeballottawa.com or text the league administrator.

Referee Responsibilities

Gear: The dodgeballs, clipboard, whistle, and stopwatch are all to be left at the gym on the stage in the blue mesh bag. This way, it is ready for the following week.

Gym Set-Up: The teams arriving first to the gym should help the refs quickly set up. This involves turning on the lights, setting up the mesh wall for the stage and turning on some tunes.
