Community Recognition

Dodgeball Ottawa is more than an organization, its a community. Our community is extremely strong and is filled with people who are always willing to lend their time to help.

Dodgeball Ottawa would like to take a moment to highlight two community members who have gone above and beyond this past season.

Kalon Van Neste

Calling Kalon an active member in Dodgeball Ottawa would be an understatement. Since joining us in 2016, Kalon has participated in every type of event we offer. He has supported all DBO’s initiatives, participated in every type of event that we have offered, volunteers to ref, and has often registered multiple teams into our leagues/tournaments.

This past season, Kalon also took on the responsibility of running our Sunday evening drop-in dodgeball. He ran this every Sunday evening often after playing for many hours already. He even ran the drop-ins when he was away training in Hamilton and had to drive back just in time to make it all work. Without Kalon’s dedication, we would not have been able to run our drop-in dodgeball this past season!

Kalon is also always trying to bring new people into the community. Kalon consistently builds teams, organizes small events, and takes the initiative to help offer more dodgeball here in Ottawa. Dodgeball Ottawa would like to thank Kalon Van Neste for all his time and dedication to helping us run our leagues and events.

Jean-Francois Godard

JF has been a member in our community since 2015. He has been an active supporter of Dodgeball Ottawa and has taken part in a variety of our leagues and events over the years.

Recently, we have been struggling to find gym space. JF had an idea to search for space outside of Ottawa and assessing the availability of gym space in the Hull-Gatineau area. He took this task on and handled all communication with the individual facilities, created a spreadsheet to outline gym features/availability and translated documents for us. His search proved fruitful as we now have a gym for the winter season, allowing us to run the Team League as well as the Draft League again.

Thank you JF for your hard work in finding DBO a new space. We would not have been able to run both leagues this season if not for you! Thank you so much JF!
